Green Path Midwest’s founders include experts in using sustainable energy technologies in commercial and residential applications, and a construction team with over 25 years of expertise.

For exaple, Farell Pelfrey, one of our founders, is a former president of the Illinois Solar Energy Association and has been actively committed to environmentally friendly living since the 1970's.  Farell has consulted with numerous organizations about reducing their energy consumption and using sustainable resources. He has installed numerous solar electric and water systems and recently participated in the development of a new vertical axis windmill suitable for urban use.  While alternative energy construction and technologies have yet to be widely used in the midwest, Farell and his family have lived fully "off grid"--right here in the Chicagoland area--for more than 7 years. Powered only by solar panels and a windmill, their 3700 square foot home has all the amenities. Passive solar design elements, in tandem with other energy efficicient features, including super-insulated 8 inch thick walls, enable the entire home to be heated with a 33,000 btu propane heater for the cost of only only $800 for the entire winter season.
